Sound 5/5
If the Hives had a baby with Jack White and Otis Redding had babysat, you’d get oOohh Baby Gimme Mores (OBGMs as they are known on T-Shirts). Each of the members brings something unique and their sound together is absolutely phenomenal. Songs were frantic with soul and oh so danceable!
Performance 5/5
I had been standing by the bar watching them set up, and see some of their dedicated fans start filling the front of stage area. What transpired next is a bit of blur. The band started; and a wave of intense energy filled the entire bar. I have never, ever seen a crowd react to a band that violently; dancing, singing, glow sticks flying and screaming. The band ate it up with a spoon and gave back so much more. I walked out of the bar in a complete daze, could not stop talking about it for days!
Professionalism 5/5
They thanked everyone, including the sound guy for their help. Most gentlemanly band I’ve seen.
Aesthetic 5/5
Brit-Rock Hipster; skinny jeans, t-shirts and shaggy hair, without an ounce of pretentiousness.
Authenticity 5/5
When doing my research, they were the first band I had been excited about to see. In person, they blew me away! They obviously love the fans, love what they do and had a total blast doing it! They kept mentioning that they are normally an R&B band, and while I heard the roots of that, they took it to a new level blending in the Rock and Roll. <Insert multiple adjectives on their kick-assness>. This is the band to beat this year!!
Total: 25/25
Final: 100%
