Every once in a while a perfect album is born. It’s parents: poetic lovers, stripped of beating hearts and broken down to nothing more or less than flesh and bones, so exposed. When I reviewed the Wooden Sky’s teaser City Of Light EP, I said the songs were destined for wine and tear-soaked nights alone in the city. It felt a painful level of sad, which it was, but when songs are pulled and compiled into the full collection that is Every Child A Daughter, Every Moon A Sun suddenly the true picture unfolds.

Bret Michaels records track with My Darkest Days’ Sal Costa for upcoming album

Poison’s Bret Micheals has announced some of the guests off his upcoming solo album Get Your Rock On  and it includes Toronto homeboy Sal Costa of My Darkest Days. True fans know this song actually dropped in January and features another notable guitarist, Michaels’ touring pal and Def Leppard badass Phil Collen. You can download it of iTunes here. Michaels says of Costa, “[He’s a] really, really good guitar player and good friend.”

Toronto indie rockers Wildlife embrace a little mischief and edge in their debut video for “Sea Dreamers” directed by Marc André Debruyne. The vid debuted on MuchMusic last week and features a youth television vibe with bowling, fights, food, weapons and a trip to Scarborough’s little burger joint Harry’s Drive-Thru.

The nominees for the 2012 JUNO Awards were announced by The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) at a press conference in Toronto this morning, as top Canadian artists now gear up for JUNO Week, March 26-April 1 in Ottawa.  It was also revealed that Canadian icon William Shatner will host The 2012 JUNO Awards Broadcast, airing live on CTV the evening of Sunday, April 1 from Scotiabank Place.

Cancer Bats Announce Canadian Tour in Spring

Cancer Bats are gearing up for a slew of Canadian dates this spring in support of their highly anticipated album Dead Set On Living, which hits stores April 17 via Distort Inc. in Canada. The tour kicks off March 30 in Winnipeg, MB and wraps up in St. Catharines April 15. American Hardcore band Touché Amoré and new label mates A Sight For Sewn Eyes will be joining Cancer Bats for these Canadian dates. Tickets for the tour – including Toronto’s Horseshoe performance – go on sale this weekend.
 
Before spending an entire month with their Canadian fans, Cancer Bats will be touring across the US with the reigning kings of destructive hardcore metal, Ringworm.

Toronto Band TNGTNG are a young, hard, fast Toronto band who have played heavily in and around Ontario and Quebec . They draw comparisons to such acts as the White Stripes and Death From Above, but have a chemistry and stage presence that can make even the stingiest crowd ripple and roll. Past gigs include Canadian Music Fest, NXNE, as well as spotlights on Edge 102.1 and CFRU 93.3 FM in Guelph.
