Said The Whale Announce New Studio Album Little Mountain out 2012, new EP New Brighton out today!


saidthewhaleSAID THE WHALE announce their forthcoming new studio album will be called Little Mountain and released internationally on March 6, 2012 via Hidden Pony Records/EMI. The 15 track long player will be the band’s third record. Today, November 8 the 2011 Juno Award Winners for New Group Of The Year will release the lead single from Little Mountain, the dancefloor-catchy Heavy Ceiling which features an unmistakable and contemporary nod to The Knack’s My Sharona in the chorus. The single reflects the confident, complete and razor sharp sound we can expect from this new Said The Whale album. Little Mountain was produced by Tom Dobrzanski and mixed by multiple Grammy Award winner, Jack Joseph Puig.

High School, the followup to We Are The City‘s debut album In A Quiet World, is an introspective journey into one’s past and the growing pains associated with moving on to the next chapter in one’s life.  The EP consists of songs that were originally supposed to be a side project of the band, which they called High School, but were later recorded as a We Are The City album.
