SAID THE WHALE announce their forthcoming new studio album will be called Little Mountain and released internationally on March 6, 2012 via Hidden Pony Records/EMI. The 15 track long player will be the band’s third record. Today, November 8 the 2011 Juno Award Winners for New Group Of The Year will release the lead single from Little Mountain, the dancefloor-catchy Heavy Ceiling which features an unmistakable and contemporary nod to The Knack’s My Sharona in the chorus. The single reflects the confident, complete and razor sharp sound we can expect from this new Said The Whale album. Little Mountain was produced by Tom Dobrzanski and mixed by multiple Grammy Award winner, Jack Joseph Puig.
Also available today is the New Brighton EP a 4-track digital EP of songs recorded during this summer’s album recording sessions. The sessions were prolific; the band had enough music to fill an album and an EP. The lead track from the New Brighton EP, Lines is available as a free download from the band’s website where fans can also see the clever ‘Back to the Future’ influenced video in which the band reenacts the classic “Enchantment Under The Sea” scene. http://saidthewhale.com/newbrighton/ The site also offers streams of ‘Heavy Ceiling’ and ‘Big Sky, MT’, both tracks from Little Mountain.
