If you haven’t seen a White Cowbell Oklahoma performance, you haven’t lived. Nothing is off limits for this crazy, country rock’n’roll band – strippers, Santas, you name if, they’ve done it. The antics alongside their impeccable ability to lay down some superbly talented gritty chops makes them a must see. Clem C. Clemsen tells us more.
White Cowbell Oklahoma are re-energizing in our rock n roll energy pods, directly under the Andes. WCO will be at full power for NXNE.
2. There are a lot of bands playing NXNE, why should we watch yours?
White Cowbell Oklahoma have set the highest standard for shock and awe performances and all-around sonic attack at NXNE. We are a six-man throwing star of rock n roll perfection. We shall never surrender. We shall defend our island. And you’ll wake up with a Sasquatch.
3. What are you doing to prepare for NXNE?
White Cowbell Oklahoma are rolling up the pages of yoga how-to guides and smoking them. We’re also practicing obscure 17th century instruments that have absolutely nothing to do with our NXNE show.
4. What are you hoping to get out of the festival?
We’re hoping to leave NXNE with the festival owners’ souls plus the majority of their stock. We’ve already aggressively taken over CMW, CMJ and Popkomm. General Electric too.
5. Which act(s) are you hoping to catch during the festival and why?
White Cowbell Oklahoma are excited to see White Cowbell Oklahoma. It’s like having sex in front of a mirror. But the Golden Dogs will be good too. Probably Iggy & the Stooges will be as well.
6. Tell me a tour story that is crazy but true.
The Queen Mother was not only a Stone Cutter and motorcycle enthusiast, but also the head of White Cowbell Oklahoma’s fan club.
7. What are White Cowbell Oklahoma working on at the moment?
White Cowbell Oklahoma are still touring in support of their critically-acclaimed most recent studio album, Bombardero. The band’s also assembling a live album recorded at a major European festival, tentatively titled Viva Live Locos. Although we may also call it Chiba Shooba or maybe Pendejos Grandes.
8. Which shows/events/BBQs are you playing?
White Cowbell Oklahoma are gloriously playing Friday June 18 at El Mocambo. You will experience sin, salvation and the testosterone cannon that is our riff-rock armada. You will be forever changed.
